Construction Workwear Case Study: 200 Employees, One Consistent Brand
A construction company based in Galați, Romania, with approximately 200 employees has been working with Zivara since 2022. Every year, the company orders 200–300 units of each workwear product it needs. This long-term partnership shows what it takes to manage recurring bulk orders and how we respond when a customisation method does not deliver the expected results.
About the Client
The client is a construction company with around 200 employees working on construction sites. Its team needs durable, coordinated workwear that is easy to recognise across different working environments.
We have worked together since 2022. During this time, the company redesigned its logo, and we adapted the customisation across its workwear range while maintaining a consistent appearance throughout the team.
What the Company Orders Every Year
- Work jackets
- Work trousers
- Hoodies
- High-visibility vests
- Softshell jackets
- Fleece jackets
Annual quantities typically range from 200 to 300 units per product. This allows the company to equip its employees for cold weather, wind and rain, everyday work and areas where high visibility is required.
Products Used in This Construction Workwear Range
The following products are part of the range ordered by the company. Visit each product page to explore the available sizes and colours.
How We Customise the Workwear
We select the customisation method for each product according to the fabric and how the garment is used.
- DTF printing: Used across jackets, hoodies, high-visibility vests, softshell jackets and work trousers. It provides consistent logo placement and clear colours across the product range.
- Embroidery: Used for fleece jackets, where the textured finish suits the fabric and provides durable branding.
This approach helps the team maintain a consistent appearance across garments made from different materials and designed for different working conditions.
Solving a Customisation Challenge with Softshell Jackets
For one batch of softshell jackets, we initially tested heat-transfer customisation. The result did not meet our expectations: the branding did not adhere reliably to the fabric.
Two factors contributed to the problem. First, the outer surface treatment of the fabric could interfere with adhesion. Second, fluorescent garments can be sensitive to the heat and pressure used during heat-transfer application.
We did not leave the client with products that failed to meet the required standard. We replaced the affected products and redid the customisation using DTF printing, which proved more suitable for this material.
What we learned: Fabrics with specialist surface treatments, including water-repellent or waterproof finishes, and fluorescent colours may require additional testing before bulk production. For large orders, we recommend testing the chosen method on an actual garment from the production batch rather than relying solely on a generic sample.
How We Manage a Workwear Order for 200 Employees
- Requirements and quotation. The company tells us which products it needs and in what quantities. Prices exclude VAT, and bulk orders can qualify for volume discounts.
- Free digital mockup. Before production, the client can review the logo placement and appearance on each product. Production begins only after approval.
- In-house production. DTF printing and embroidery are carried out in our workshop in Brăila, Romania, without intermediaries.
- Delivery. The estimated lead time is 7–10 working days after approval. For large quantities, we confirm the delivery schedule in the quotation.
Why Recurring Workwear Orders Make a Difference
When a company orders workwear every year, we can maintain consistency in logo artwork, colours and approved placement. New employees can receive the same workwear as the rest of the team, while replacement garments can match existing items.
When the brand identity changes, as it did when this client redesigned its logo, we adapt the customisation and apply it consistently across the range. This helps the company maintain a unified appearance without starting the entire process from scratch.
Key Takeaways for Construction Companies
- Choose the customisation method for each product. DTF printing and embroidery can serve different purposes within the same workwear collection.
- Coordinate bulk orders. Ordering a complete range together helps maintain consistent branding across departments and garments.
- Approve a mockup before production. This is particularly useful when applying a logo to several product types.
- Test specialist fabrics. Garments with surface treatments or fluorescent colours may require a production-garment test before a large order.
- Check safety requirements. For protective clothing, including high-visibility garments, confirm the requirements for each job and the applicable workplace safety standards before ordering.
